- pH paper
- 3 plastic jars
- 6 transfer pipets
- Plastic spoon
Requirements:
- Cooking oils such as vegetable, canola, corn, etc
- Various commercial oils such as motor oil, engine oil, lubricating oil,
etc.
- Tap Water
- Vinegar
- Baking Soda
- Salt
- Gloves
Time
Requirements:
After an establishment of cultures (1-2 days), the experiment
can be performed during one 50-minute lab period.
However, results must be observed over ten days to several weeks.
Alternatively, this inquiry-based experiment can be conducted over
the course of several days or weeks. |
