DNA Fingerprinting
The
objective of this experiment is to learn how agarose gel electrophoresis
separates different sizes of DNA fragments. Students will learn
how these fragments form unique patterns for each person’s
DNA, which is the basis for DNA fingerprinting analysis. As a prerequisite,
students will learn to a) prepare a gel and b) how to load a gel.
No human or animal blood or body fluid is used in this experiment. Components for 6 experiments.
