With some exceptions, enzymes are proteins that catalyze (accelerate) reactions in cells. Enzymes are very specific in their mode of action. In this experiment, protein digestive enzymes will be used to digest foodstuffs. The effect of pH and temperature will be tested on enzyme activity.

 

Includes: Enzyme sample, gelatin, transfer pipets, Petri dishes, pH paper, enzyme inhibitors, content background, experiment procedures, safety information, assessment questions and answers.
