Separating Color Pigments by Chromatography

Students will separate various pigments that make up specific colors using safe solvent mixtures. Paper and ion exchange chromatography will be introduced. These are fun experiments for students of all ages.

 

Includes: Chromatography chamber, chromatography filter paper, ion exchange beads, two dye sample mixtures, plastic transfer pipets, content background, experiment procedures, safety information, assessment questions and answers.
