DNA Fingerprinting Concept Set^TM

DNA fingerprinting is widely used in forensics, paternity testing, reunification of lost children with their families, and identifications of victims in accidents and casualties of war. Other uses also include in agriculture and animal pedigree determinations. This Concept Set™ provides discovery-based experiments for active learning of DNA fingerprinting basics using simulation that accurately introduce students to learning concepts and methods and provide the opportunity to compare this technology with traditional fingerprinting. Content background, experiment procedures and assessment questions and answers are included. Details are provided in the individual experiment descriptions.
